Vision & MissionAbout us United Federation of Volunteers for Refugees Action (UFVRA) is non – a profit organization that welcomes and provides humanitarian aid and assistance to refugees and asylum seekers entering Australia. UFVRA - advocate for lifesaving assistance, human rights, and protection for displaced people and promote solutions to displacement crises worldwide. We do not accept government or UN funding, ensuring the independence and credibility of our work. Our Work There are currently more than 100 million people worldwide displaced by conflict, human rights abuses, and persecution, and many more are displaced each year by climate-related disasters. When the international community’s ability to respond to these crises is stretched thin, UFVRA - Australia’s powerful advocacy helps focus planning and response to ensure that resources are going to those who need them most (our charitable purpose in nine countries). What We Do UFVRA – focuses on the vital refugee, displacement, humanitarian, and human rights issues that need urgent attention and action. Our advocates travel to some of the world’s most severe displacement crises to investigate first-hand the challenges displaced people face, create policy solutions, and demand action. As an organization, UFVRA does not accept government or UN funding, enabling us to speak freely and independently. This means that the humanitarian groups that respond to refugee and other displacement crises often view UFVRA – Australia as a critical ally. Our expert recommendations are highly valued by senior officials of the Australian administration and state, the UN and its Agency, and governments around the world—the very people whose decisions can bring immediate relief and lifesaving solutions to refugees. Our Story United Federation of Volunteers for Refugees Action was initially established in 1992 by refugees to aid refugees so they can rebuild their lives. Since then, we have expanded to become a globally focused welcome, an advocacy organization, and a leading voice for the rights of displaced people around the world.
